Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-08

Draft policy for a pre-launch product - reflects how BrandMap actually works today, not reviewed by a lawyer yet. Get real legal review (including India's DPDP Act and the skill-vs-chance distinction for real-money contests) before relying on this at launch.

Players never pay to enter

Entering a contest, survey, or offer is always free - there's no entry fee or deposit, so there's nothing for a player to be refunded for entering. Listing a product or an offer contest is also free for businesses; the only thing a business ever pays for an offer is optional paid promotion. This policy covers hosting and promotion fees paid by businesses, and how money already credited to a player's wallet is handled.

For businesses hosting a contest, survey, or offer

  • If your listing is flagged by our content moderation and rejected by an admin before going live, any hosting or listing fee charged for it is refunded in full. Rejecting an offer or product listing refunds nothing extra, since listing itself was never charged.
  • Once a contest or survey has opened and people have started taking part, the hosting fee is non-refundable - cancelling a live listing doesn't refund the fee, since players may have already invested time expecting to compete for the posted prize or reward.
  • If you need to cancel a contest or survey before it opens (while it's still in DRAFT or SCHEDULED status), contact us and we'll refund the hosting fee.
  • Hosting and promotion fees are subject to GST at the applicable rate, shown at the time of payment. Refunds are issued net of any GST already remitted, where required by law.
  • A paid promotion (for a contest, survey, or offer) is a one-time visibility purchase for the length you chose. It's not refundable once the promotion period has started, even if you later cancel, unpublish, or edit the listing.

For players

Winnings credited to your wallet, and coupons issued to you, are yours - they are not something we "refund" or claw back, except in a confirmed case of fraud (for example, a win or a claim that resulted from colluding accounts or a duplicate account, as described in our Terms of Service). Where we reasonably suspect fraud, we may withhold, delay, or reverse a payout pending investigation, as described in our Terms of Service - this isn't a refund to the business, it's a hold on money that hasn't been confirmed as rightfully yours yet.

If you choose to withdraw an amount below our minimum threshold, the disclosed flat fee for that below-minimum withdrawal is a real cost of processing a smaller payout and is not refundable once the withdrawal completes.

Where tax law requires us to deduct TDS from a withdrawal (see our Terms of Service), the deducted amount is a statutory tax payment, not a fee we keep, and isn't something we can refund - you can account for it when filing your own income tax return.

If a withdrawal fails on our end, your wallet balance is not deducted - there's nothing to refund, since the money never left your wallet. Our team reviews and retries failed payouts; you don't need to do anything.

An offer coupon that expires unused isn't something we reissue or compensate for - every coupon stays valid until a set time after the offer ends, and that date is shown to you before you claim.

Disputed outcomes

If you believe a contest's winner determination was incorrect (for example, your written or photo answer was marked wrong when you believe it was right), or that a business didn't honor a coupon or offer, contact us with the listing and your submission or claim details. We'll review it with the hosting business - see our Terms of Service for the limits of our own responsibility for a business's conduct.
